Media Coverage Of The Opera
The concert in Egypt will receive unprecented television coverage, reaching an approximate 3.5 billion viewers. French channel M6 will broadcast the entire main act at 00.05 on New Year's Day.

There are two major television network consortiums covering the global millennium celebrations, and both will be covering the show in Egypt as part of their programming.

The show has been signed up as part of a gala year-end TV special called Millennium Live … Humanity's Broadcast, produced by PAX TV and Millennium Television Network, producers of Live Aid.

The production will showcase New Year's Eve celebrations from the world's 24 time zones and will also feature artists such as Sting, Phil Collins and Mike Oldfield. All the components from around the globe will be mixed together in Los Angeles and distributed worldwide through the broadcast partners.

Confirmed channels across the globe include Bandeirantes/Brazil; ZeeTV/India; Telecinco/Spain; SAT1/Germany; SABC/South Africa; VIBE TV/Japan; Nine Network/Australia; City TV/Canada; Venevision/Venezuela and France Televisio. Currently 110 countries are committed to air the program.

The second network is being led by the BBC, titled 2000 Today. This broadcast is being picked up by over 60 channels across the globe
